Peter Baker grew up in rural Victoria and studied Science and Law at Monash University before being admitted to practice in Victoria as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1988. Peter then worked in the northern suburbs of Melbourne initially in private practice then at a community legal centre and then at Victoria Legal Aid before coming to practice in Bendigo in 2002. Peter established the firm in 2004.
Peter practices primarily in Family Law and Criminal Law and appears regularly in the Federal Circuit Court in Family Law property and parenting matters. He has had many years experience as a criminal advocate in both the Magistrates’ and County Courts and has acted on behalf of people charged with offences from parking tickets to murder and just about everything else in between.
Peter has also acted for clients in a variety of other matters over the years including Intervention Orders, Children’s Court matters, Civil Litigation, Wills, Conveyancing, Personal Injury and VCAT matters.
Peter has a strong commitment to social justice and is committed to delivering high quality legal services to his clients. His experience over many years enables him to resolve client’s matters in ways that are both fair and efficient.
Hannah grew up in Bendigo and studied law at LaTrobe University.
After being admitted to practice Hannah commenced employment with Peter Baker & Associates in May 2012. Hannah has a real commitment to her clients to ensure they understand their legal rights and options and getting the best results possible for them.
Hannah is a passionate advocate in Court and has extensive experience appearing in the Federal Circuit Court in relation to parenting and property matters, in the Magistrates’ Court in police and other prosecutions as well as for both applicants and respondents in Family Violence and Personal Safety matters. Hannah also regularly appears in the Children’s Court.
